The Ragnedda Administration has decided that from 15 July to 31 August access to the Piscine beach, on the Cannigione coast, will only be allowed by a limited and sustainable number of people . The regulation will be presented for approval at a future city council meeting. The provision could be the first of others aimed at combating the phenomenon of coastal erosion.

«This is the first test – says Alessandro Malu, councilor for urban planning and state property; «The regulation will establish the parameters for access to Le Piscine beach, within the limits of what has already been defined by the Coastal Use Plan (PUL), and the booking methods. A digital application will be developed from which to book entry to the beach for the whole day , or for half the day, up to 72 hours in advance. A portion of the seats will be allocated to residents , who will have free access to the beach as well as children under 12".

The measure finds its reasons in the fact that - claims the Councilor for Tourism, Claudia Giagoni - the Arzachena destination, with around 14 thousand permanent residents, which in the month of August reaches over 140 thousand people per day in transit in the territory, reaches numbers "which have a heavy impact on the consumption of natural resources, our most important heritage" . The quota project will be presented to citizens and tourist operators on Wednesday 8 May, at 5pm, at the Nexus Space in via San Pietro in Arzachena.
