Four people were arrested following a large-scale anti-drug operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Tempio Pausania Company. The officers, supported by the Provincial Commands of Nuoro and Sassari and the Sardinian Hunters Helicopter Squadron, executed the precautionary custody orders issued by the Tempio Pausania Court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The precautionary measures concerned individuals residing in Gallura, Goceano, and Barbagia.

THE INVESTIGATION – The investigation, coordinated by the Acting Public Prosecutor, shed light on a drug cultivation operation in Northern Sardinia . During the operation, a house search was also conducted on another person believed to be involved in the illegal activities.

The investigation stemmed from an operation last September in the countryside of Luras , where the Carabinieri discovered a vast cannabis indica plantation consisting of over a thousand plants, averaging about 1.2 meters tall. The cultivation, located in a particularly inaccessible and inaccessible area, was equipped with a complex irrigation system fed by two water collection tanks and, significantly, a remote video surveillance system powered by solar panels, installed to constantly monitor the area and prevent intrusions.

During the operation, a man residing in the Oristano area was arrested in flagrante delicto, while a second individual, residing in Gallura, was reported at large. The officers seized over a kilogram of marijuana ready for distribution and several grams of hashish.
