For the second consecutive year Ivan Cortis with his saffron triumphed in Milan at the Italy Food Awards 2024 , the Oscar for the best producers in the agri-food sector in Italy. The Sardinian entrepreneur obtained the "Special Award for Excellence and Traditions of Italian Taste", a highly prestigious recognition which is the fruit of his precious work in the countryside of Villanovafranca, the town where he was born.

An "Oscar" for the quality of the product and for the obstinacy and tenacity of Ivan Cortis who at a certain point in his life encountered multiple sclerosis, but did not stop. He left with strong motivations. He decided to focus on the agricultural activity: in addition to the red gold, which he sells in many foreign markets (including the US one), oil, almonds, legumes . All this through the rediscovery of the potential linked to the ancient agricultural vocation of the Marmilla.

The comment after receiving the award in Milan: «I am very happy for this extraordinary new achievement which gives me exceptional energy in view of the next goals I want to achieve. The challenge continues. I also think about the future of my country which must exploit the great opportunities offered by agriculture."
