A brand new ambulance for the healthcare of the citizens of Castiadas. The vehicle, purchased by the volunteer association Cevoc thanks to the Municipality (forty thousand euros, half of the necessary sum), the generosity of the citizens and the contribution of the commercial activities, was inaugurated yesterday morning in the square in front of the church of San Giovanni Battista, in Olia Speciosa.

"We will use it," explained Paolo Zedda, president of the association that is celebrating its first 25 years of activity these days, "for the transport of patients, for example after discharge. And then for visits to the reference medical centers."

The mayor of Castiadas Eugenio Murgioni thanked the current president and the volunteers, also fondly remembering all those who have led the association over the course of these 25 years: engineer Marco Avignone, Guido Sestu, Cristina Succu and Damiano Deiana.

“Celebrating this milestone by inaugurating a new operational vehicle,” said Murgioni, “is for me a strong signal of vitality and of how volunteers are an indispensable resource for our community.”

The mayor added that "the new ambulance is not just a vehicle, it is the concrete symbol of a community that believes in solidarity, cooperation and the value of volunteering. It is a tool that can save lives, but also an example of what we can achieve together."

The vehicle was blessed by Don Luigi Zuncheddu.
