Two and a half kilos of unidentified seeds, without labelling, were seized at Alghero airport. They were in possession of a passenger coming from Nigeria, via Fiumicino.

The seeds had no indications attesting to their origin, species and relative phytosanitary certification.

They were identified by the officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Sassari, in service at the territorial operational section of Alghero, together with the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza.

The foods will be subjected to hygienic-sanitary analyzes by the phytopathologist of the Agriculture and Agro-Pastoral Reform Department of the Region: they could be used for reproduction in local soils and it is possible that they could contaminate crops with harmful pathogens.
