One year and 8 months. This is the sentence handed down yesterday in court in Sassari by Judge Valentina Nuvoli against a 47-year-old from Alghero accused of stalking his ex-partner . According to the charges, in 2024 the man bombarded the woman with hundreds of threatening messages on WhatsApp, calling her continuously even in the middle of the night. Among the threats was also that if she reported him he would make her pay.
Then, the indictment states, on one occasion the 47-year-old allegedly hit the woman by slapping her, squeezing her neck and then throwing her to the ground . Numerous threats were written on the cell phone such as "leave the house or I'll break down the gate", up to the forced control of the cell phone, with the victim forced to give him the unlock code.
For the prosecutor Antonio Piras the responsibilities of the defendant, among other things a repeat offender, were proven and for him he requested a sentence of one year and 8 months. The defense lawyers, Luca Accardo and Gavino Tanchis, insisted on the fact of a relationship perhaps troubled but nevertheless between people in love, and reported how the injuries complained of by the injured party were incompatible with his activities in the gym. When the sentence was announced the lawyers asked for alternative sentences for their client.
