Alghero, sand and algae on the coast road after the storm

In Alghero the storm surge of the last few hours has created traffic disruptions along Viale Primo Maggio and Via Lido.

The coastal road was invaded by debris, sand and seagrass and the municipal workers had to work overtime to make the road passable.

«I want to thank the municipal Civil Protection and Emergency Response teams for the work carried out from the early hours of yesterday afternoon until the night and then again today until a few hours ago, to restore traffic on the Lido road, Viale 1 Maggio and at the port", writes the mayor Mario Conoci on his Facebook page.

«The strong sea storms of the last few hours, in addition to having damaged several beach establishments, caused the sea to reach the road, bringing sand, seagrass and debris which prevented traffic safety. Heartfelt thanks to all those who were ready and gave their utmost effort", comments Conoci, publishing the photos of the disaster.
