The go-ahead arrives for the first lot of interventions for water requalification in Alghero: Egas has approved the Abbanoa project, which the same government body of the Sardinia area finances with a cost of 3 million 740 thousand euros .

Old pipelines and non-performing materials mean that losses in the Catalan city's water system are around 70-75% every day , which demonstrates the need for extraordinary maintenance work on the network, which is put under even more pressure in the summer when attendance reaches 120 thousand people, almost three times the residents of the country.

Approximately 6,165 meters of pipes will be replaced , which will affect via Antonio Marongiu, De Muro, Giacomo Matteotti, Grazia Deledda, Leonardo Da Vinci, Palomba, Sant'Agostino, XX Settembre, Don Giovanni Minzoni, Pasquale Paoli, Coros, Parc Güell, Tibidabo , Villafranca De Panades and Carbia.

“Alghero is a pearl of Sardinia, with a strong capacity to attract tourist flows. A city that should not experience and let those who visit it experience the serious inconvenience that occurs due to the congestion of the water service, especially in the summer months", comments the president of Egas Fabio Albieri, underlining that with this intervention "we begin to give a concrete response to the needs of the territory" .
