Alarm in Sassari: gas cylinder explodes in an apartment
The roar on the balcony. Damage to the house but no consequences for the tenants
Frightening explosion, Friday evening, in an apartment in Viale Sicilia, in Sassari .
The alert was triggered around 20.30 when a firefighter who was passing through the area, perceiving the danger, intervened first, then warning his colleagues and the police. According to initial information, a gas cylinder exploded on the balcony and smoke spread immediately into the house. Inside two people, fortunately remained unharmed. The ambulance operators of the Sardinian Rescue have subjected them to health checks.
The timely intervention of the firefighters with the ladder made it possible to limit the damage , therefore the necessary monitoring and checks were started.
The explosion shattered the windows of the veranda , a loud roar frightened the residents.
The firefighters started extinguishing the fire, isolating and securing the area. On the spot also the agents of the flying squad of the state police to ascertain the causes of the incident.
