A 60-year-old motorist, originally from Sorso, died in the very early hours of yesterday along the Sp 90 (Santa Teresa-Castelsardo) not far from Vignola, in the Aglientu area.

The man, according to what was ascertained by the Carabinieri of the Tempio Pausania Company and the Aglientu Station, was traveling aboard a small car and stopped after noticing a stunned wild boar on the side of the road.

The animal had probably been hit by another car. The motorist approached the wild boar and probably tried to capture it or otherwise touched it. It is excluded that the boar charged him but the man was immediately taken ill.

Unfortunately the 118 intervention was useless, the motorist died on the Provincial road, in front of some relatives.
