Off the north-eastern coasts of Sardinia, between Budoni and Posada , the project for a floating marine wind farm is born. It is called “Tibula Energia” and it is proposed by Falck Renewables and BlueFloat Energy. In the south of the island, on the other hand, the projects are those of Nora Energia, 795 megawatts, and Nora Energia 2 for another 600 megawatts south-west of the Gulf of Cagliari.

The first step is the involvement of the territories, the companies are in fact explaining the characteristics and programs to the communities: the park provides for the presence of 62 floating wind turbines , positioned at a distance from the coast that varies from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 40. kilometres. In this way, the proponents say, the turbines will be almost imperceptible to the human eye.

Other data: 975 MW of installed capacity , over 3.4 TWh / year of expected production, equal to the consumption of over 900,000 households.

What would be the advantages for the territory ? Up to 3,200 units for the manufacturing, assembly and construction phases, over 180 for the maintenance of the plants after the park's entry into operation. Furthermore, the creation of new professionals with know-how on the most advanced energy technologies is foreseen. And also innovation and research through collaboration paths with Sardinian universities, research centers and regional technology parks.

However , the first doubts are not lacking, in Posada, for example, the minority asked for an urgent municipal council to be convened to say "no" to the wind farm at sea: "It is absurd to just hypothesize the construction of a floating marine park in front of the Tepilora and the Mab Biosphere Reserve - explain Giorgio Fresu and Saturnino Nieddu of the Posada Bene Comune group - It would be embarrassing for those looking out from the Castello della Fava to see these monsters floating in one of the most beautiful seas in the Mediterranean. We are not opposed to the transition process energy but - they specify - we are equally determined to prevent this stretch of coast, and in general the whole Sardinian sea, from being defaced by this type of plant ".
