Cagliari firefighters intervened this afternoon , around 3.45 pm, in Quartu to deal with a fire that broke out in the basement of a house on Via Lampedusa, on the coast.

The team, with the help of a fire truck, quickly extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading to the entire structure, with hot fumes already invading the rooms on the upper floors. Firefighters then proceeded to secure the house.

The accident resulted in one person suffering burns, who was taken to the hospital with a yellow code . The cause of the fire is still unclear, while cleanup operations are ongoing.
