Precious stones, jewels, semi-finished silver products . This is what is contained in the small treasure , which numbers around two thousand pieces , seized in the Isola Bianca port of Olbia by the Guardia di Finanza soldiers and Sassari Customs officials in the summer of 2007 , which will now be put up for auction .

The diamonds were found inside the luggage in a vehicle, owned by a Pakistani citizen who had presented an import bill and an export bill at customs which could not be traced back to the goods transported both due to the nature of the goods and the quantity and declared value.

The investigations revealed that the man had evaded VAT and customs duties for a total of 15,500 euros . The electronic public tender will be announced through the Judicial Sales Institute of Sassari from 4 to 15 December: the "loot" has been divided into 26 lots. It will be possible to make minimum raises of 50 euros.
