Woman shot dead at home, body found by work colleagues

A 40-year-old woman was shot and killed in her home in the Catania area, in an agricultural area of Paternò.

The victim is a Romanian farm laborer who worked on a farm between Belpasso and Paternò. He lived in a rural house, the one in which the body was found.

Some colleagues made the macabre discovery . Since the woman was not answering her cell phone, they went to her home, which is located within the farm area but in an isolated place.

There they found the body and raised the alarm, sending 118 and the carabinieri of the local Company together with those of the Provincial Command of Catania to arrive on the spot. The prosecutor has opened a murder investigation.

The woman was separated and had a daughter who lives in Romania. Investigators are hearing from work colleagues and the owners of the company to reconstruct the victim's acquaintances. At the moment, it is underlined, his personal sphere is being investigated but there is no privileged track in the crime .
