" It wasn't me ": this is the most repeated phrase in the warrant interrogations , before the judges for the preliminary hearing, by the seven arrested for the aggravated gang violence against a 13-year-old girl on the evening of January 30th. in the public bathrooms of the Villa Bellini in Catania. And the two Egyptians, a minor and a newly adult, also repeated it, believed to be the perpetrators of the abuse who were accused by the victim herself , by her 17-year-old boyfriend and also by the DNA extrapolated from the biological traces found on the girl's clothing.

The two, and a third minor, will remain in prison : the judge has issued a precautionary custody order while the district investigating judge's decision for the other four suspects is expected in the next few hours.

THE RECONSTRUCTION – From the documents of the two prosecutors' investigations a dramatic reconstruction of the facts emerges: the couple was first surrounded by the group and then one of them pushed the girl into one of the bathrooms where the violence occurred . The 13 year old tried to oppose, without success. "I was shaking like a little girl," she told the prosecutors. He tries to defend himself again, but all he can say is "stop, please don't do that." A scene that repeats itself with the second rapist, while a third suspect "looks out" from a dividing wall . The young man told the prosecutor's office that he intervened because he heard screaming and claims to have told the attacker to stop. But the girl denies it: "No one present said 'leave her alone' or tried to stop the violence."

While the violence takes place in the bathrooms, the thirteen-year-old's boyfriend is blocked outside, beaten and threatened : "I'm crazy, I can kill you", one of the gang shouts at him.

Then the seven flee and the two engaged couples run into the street and meet passers-by who call the Carabinieri .

THE INVESTIGATIONS – Three members of the pack are blocked by soldiers of the Carabinieri, while the others manage to escape. The investigations begin, which cannot make use of the cameras of Villa Bellini, because they are there but not active. But the statements of the victim, in shock but determined to "want justice" and of her boyfriend allow us to have an initial confirmation, later confirmed by the American comparison.

A contribution to the investigations also comes from one of the suspects who talks about the incident first with an operator from the community where he is a guest and then in front of the Carabinieri of the provincial command . He indicates the two rapists and shows their profile on TikTok, so the investigation expands. His lawyer, the lawyer Salvatore Gangi, reveals that he justified his presence on site by chance: "He was there because he heard shouting" . For him, who is under house arrest, the District Attorney's Office requested confirmation of the provision with the use of the electronic 'bracelet'.

During the two validation hearings almost everyone speaks, one cries in front of the deputy prosecutor Sebastiano Ardita and the deputy Anna Trinchillo. The lawyer Alessandro Fidone, who is assisting two of the adults, explained that one made use of the right not to respond, while the other spoke to the investigating judge and "said he was not involved in the facts", adding that "he was on the spot , but he did not participate in the attack and understood the seriousness of the facts."
