Five people, including a three-year-old girl, were mildly poisoned by carbon monoxide after spending the night in contact with a brazier.

The call to 118 took place early this morning in Altagnana, San Carlo area, in the municipality of Massa Carrara. Four adults and the 3-year-old girl, all North African immigrants, were allegedly poisoned by carbon monoxide, according to health professionals. In the house where they had spent the night all together there was in fact a brazier that they were using to heat up.

According to a note of 118 only the mother of the child accused more worrying symptoms, the others would have been slightly intoxicated.

The family was transported to the Apuan hospital for blood gas checks and tests to verify the degree of intoxication.

Firefighters, two ambulances and a self-medical from Massa intervened on the spot.
