They don't pull the handbrake, couple overwhelmed by SUV: wife died

Husband and wife were hit by their SUV, parked in the backyard. The woman died, the man was injured.

The tragedy occurred in Monte Cremasco (Cremona). The couple had got out of the vehicle, it seems without having applied the handbrake. The SUV hit them, picking up speed on the slope that leads to the garage.

Milena Moretti, 70, immediately appeared in serious condition: she was crushed against a wall by the Jeep Limited. Transferred by helicopter to the Niguarda hospital in Milan, she died a few hours later. Her 73-year-old husband was only grazed and suffered some trauma.

The carabinieri are now investigating what happened: they are waiting to be able to collect the testimony of the man to clarify who was driving and who parked the SUV and it remains to be understood whether the handbrake did not work because it was not activated, and therefore due to a distraction later proved fatal, or instead due to a mechanical failure.
