Little Francesco Villa Uccheddu evidently had a great desire to come into the world . And it was born in the blink of an eye, in the bathroom at home.

Two weeks before the deadline, Monica Uccheddu, from Sant'Antioco, and her husband Daniele Villa were celebrating his 41st birthday with a romantic outing for two, at the cinema, when Monica had her first contraction.

Then the rush home, to Cassina Rizzardi, in the province of Como, to pick up the bag and fly to the hospital. But the baby on the way had no intention of being born in a maternity ward.

Monica felt the contractions increase , so much that she couldn't take it anymore: she sat down on the floor, in the bathroom. While Daniele called 112, « he pushed and I saw the head . At the second push, I had Francesco in my arms. He's fine, it was incredible», he told La Provincia di Como.

Even before the sanitary ware arrived, the operators "told us how to keep it warm and dry it, placing it near the mother's belly". The doctor who finally arrived on the spot had nothing left to do but congratulate the parents and make sure that the child - "two kilos and six" - was fine. So she took him to the hospital.

"For us - the words of mother Monica - it was an incredible experience: I thought they were just contractions and that I had time to get to the hospital, it wasn't like that but luckily everything went well".
