The autopsy on the body of Giulia Cecchettin, the 22-year-old from Vigonovo killed by her ex-boyfriend, Filippo Turetta, began around 10am.

The exam is carried out by Professor Guido Viel, appointed by the Prosecutor's Office, at the University Institute of Forensic Medicine in Padua.

The magistrates are awaiting, among other answers, the one relating to the time and causes of death, also to understand if Giulia was already dead that Saturday night when Turetta da Fossò, the site of the attack, began her escape by car. Consultants Stefano D'Errico and Stefano Vanin take part in the examination for the Cecchettin family, and doctor Monica Cucci for Turetta.

In these hours the girl's grandmother gave an interview to Corriera in which she said: «Giulia has become everyone's daughter. But that's right, his story has reached the hearts of many people." In recent days he presented a book whose protagonist is a young woman who rebels against her stepfather's violence. «He had started reading it, yes - he says -. But Giulia is not Emma, there was no happy ending for her and now we have devastating pain to face. Our little girl didn't deserve such a cruel ending." And again: «I started writing it during Covid, then I decided to dedicate it to my daughter-in-law Monica, who passed away about a year ago. I will dedicate the next one to Giulia. I already have the story in mind." As for Filippo Turetta: «At this moment I don't know what I feel. Feeling a feeling of anger is inevitable. Feeling hate, however, is not useful to anyone. Hatred wears us out uselessly."
