"My daughter Saman is alive."

This was stated by Shabbar Abbas, arrested four days ago in his native Punjab after a year and a half on the run. The 46-year-old is accused by the Reggio Emilia prosecutor's office, directed by the prosecutor Gaetano Calogero Paci and by the carabinieri, of murder, kidnapping and suppression of a corpse in competition with four other family members.

The hearing in Islamabad ended in the past few hours: Shabbar was with the lawyer who was given seven days to view the documentation that arrived from Italy , which requested his extradition.

Meanwhile, in Novellara the inspection by the experts has resumed in the place where Saman Abbas could be buried, who disappeared in the night between 30 April and 1 May 2021 from Novellara : the body - found on Friday in a ruined building not far from the house where the family lived of the 18-year-old Pakistani – is in a hole, at a depth of more than two meters.

Now the operations to remove the body begin . The assignment was conferred to the anatomopathologist Cristina Cattaneo and to the forensic archaeologist Dominic Salsarola. The experts will have to recover and examine the remains and other finds that emerged from the excavation in Strada Reatino, inside a ruined building, including the earth removed. They will then have to ascertain the dynamics and the period of the concealment, the causes and timing of death, also with toxicological tests and finally whether it is Saman: they will have two months to deliver their conclusions .

Finally , the search for Nazia Shaheen , Saman's mother and fugitive since May 1, 2021, continues.
