The meeting of the Technical Scientific Committee has been set for today at 11 at which the government, urged by the Regions and by some members of the majority such as the Undersecretary of Health Andrea Costa, asked for an opinion on the reduction of quarantines for contacts , in the wake than what has already been decided in other countries. A way to avoid a new block of activities given that, as the infectious disease specialist of the San Martino Hospital in Genoa Matteo Bassetti hypothesized, in a few days we could reach 10 million people in isolation between positive and close contacts.

The governors, after meeting, will send a document to the CTS that contains a series of requests on the management of self-isolation for contacts: among these the resetting of the quarantine for asymptomatic patients but the obligation of Ffp2 and self-monitoring (therefore speaking with the attending physician in case of onset of symptoms) for people who have full vaccination coverage, including booster, and a 5-day time frame for those who have already received two doses. The changes, they explain, are necessary in light of a disruption of the contact tracing system, "skipped" in various territories.

Not only that: again according to the document of the Regions, a full-blown positive can come out of quarantine after ten days of infection if he hasn't had symptoms for three days, without even repeating the swab.

On the other hand, it is certain that, as currently foreseen, the mandatory isolation period for the unvaccinated will remain for ten days.

CRITERIA FOR CONTACTS - The possible revision of the definition criteria of "close contact" and "low risk" contained in the circular of the ministry of last August is also being studied. In that document it is specified that in the face of a "low risk" the quarantine can be revoked following a negative antigen or molecular test in the absence of symptoms. Another reflection could come to possible exceptions or reductions in quarantine days for those health workers who come into contact, outside their work environment, with positive people: a measure of this type would aim to avoid any shortages of health personnel due to isolation. compulsory.

Among the issues to be addressed is also that of controlled prices for Ffp2 masks (mandatory on Tpl vehicles, in cinemas, theaters and other places) whose cost could be around one euro.

THE SCHOOL - Another issue is the school front: a new squeeze could come precisely on the management of infections in the classroom. It is not excluded that, in the face of the increasing numbers of positives, the proposal, already advanced but then withdrawn, to provide for the quarantine for an entire class in the case of only one positive pupil (at the moment isolation for all starts with three infections).
