The 65-year-old seaside entrepreneur from Viareggio Cinzia Dal Pino has been sent to trial, accused of the murder of Nourdine Mezgoui, the 52-year-old Moroccan who died on 8 September 2024 in via Coppino in Viareggio (Lucca) after being run over several times by the woman.

The charge is voluntary homicide aggravated by cruelty, futile motives, use of insidious means, the SUV owned by the entrepreneur, and diminished defense, because the victim was hit at night from behind, while walking.

The preliminary hearing was held at the Lucca court, he will appear at the Assize Court on September 24.

Prosecutor Sara Polino retraced the events of the evening of September 8, when the woman repeatedly hit the 52-year-old with her SUV after he stole her purse . The sequence of crimes excludes the use of the abbreviated trial procedure and would open the way to a potential life sentence .

The civil parties (lawyers Enrico Carboni and Gianmarco Romanini) shared the prosecution's approach.
