Two men have been arrested in Montesilvano, in the province of Pescara. Pescara, Italy, in connection with the shooting attack that took place on January 3rd in the Spanish Quarter of Naples against Gianluca (28) and Andrea Pisacane (68), brother and father of Cagliari coach Fabio. The two were targeted in a sort of punitive operation carried out by three individuals. Investigators from the Flying Squad and the Montecalvario police station tracked down two of the perpetrators at the home of relatives in Abruzzo, where they had hidden to escape the police. Both men, with criminal records but not ties to organized crime, were issued arrest warrants for attempted murder. They are now awaiting a validation hearing, which will be held in the next few days before the Pescara investigating judge, who, after making his decision, is expected to transfer the case to Naples.
THE RECONSTRUCTION
The 28-year-old owner of the PisaDog bar had earlier that evening intervened to defend a female employee who had been targeted by three customers. A heated argument ensued, during which he acted as a peacemaker. The women then left before the police arrived.
After closing time, young Pisacane was returning home around 4 a.m. He and his father were approached by three men, all with their faces uncovered. "They attacked us," said Andrea Pisacane, 68, the father of the technician and the victim, "and one, who had a beer in his hand, threw it in Gianluca's face. They argued. Then one grabbed a gun, came closer, and fired." Two shots, one to the right leg. His father was also reportedly beaten. Gianluca Pisacane was taken to Pellegrini Hospital: his condition was never serious.
Officers from the Flying Squad and the Montecalvario police station immediately began investigating the incident, cross-referencing witness accounts and video footage to identify the three perpetrators. One , though confirmation is pending, is believed to be the brother of one of the girls involved in the fight that occurred earlier that evening.
The perpetrators of the attack had gone missing. Now, the investigation has turned around, with the two arrested in Pescara.
