Tragedy at sea in Lampedusa , where a 29-year-old director from Caltanissetta, Cristiano Daniele Giamporcaro , was killed by the propeller of a dinghy while diving in the waters of Punta Sottile.

The Agrigento Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the possibility of nautical homicide against the two Milanese tourists who owned the vessel .

The boy's body, after being identified by his parents, is already on its way to Porto Empedocle. At the prosecutor's order, an autopsy will be performed in the coming days.

According to initial reports , the 29-year-old was fishing without scuba gear in the sea off the main island of the Pelagie Islands and had signaled his presence in the water with a buoy . His girlfriend was with him, and after swimming, she had gone ashore to sunbathe. The circumstances of the accident are unclear: the vessel apparently failed to notice the red balloon, which struck the diver .

Giamporcaro may have died of blood loss because, according to reports, his arm was nearly severed . However, an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

The two elderly owners of the dinghy, originally from Milan and frequent tourists to Lampedusa, have already been interviewed by the Coast Guard, which is trying to reconstruct the events.
