The little girl who died in Siculiana, in the province of Agrigento, was only two months old, apparently due to regurgitation.

The tragedy occurred yesterday afternoon.

The little girl, last September when she was 15 days old, was taken under code red for "reported cyanosis" to the emergency room of the San Giovanni di Dio hospital. She was then discharged with the diagnosis of "neonatal infection".

Yesterday the little girl, the second child of a young Tunisian couple, was sleeping on the first floor of the house, while her parents were on the ground floor. It is not clear how long she was not checked while it appears that she was fine an hour earlier.

The police started investigations and listened to the parents, who were in a state of shock.

The Agrigento Prosecutor's Office has ordered the seizure of the body, which will be subjected to an autopsy.
