Mattress set on fire in the Beccaria cell, three police officers intoxicated
The fire brigade was on the spot, at Christmas seven prisoners had escaped from the juvenile institution

Three officers of the Penitentiary Police were intoxicated by smoke at the Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan after a mattress was set on fire in a cell.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight. The firefighters with four vehicles and a ladder truck intervened on the scene.
The policemen also sustained bruises .
At Christmas, seven prisoners had escaped from the same institution: they were all captured or returned after a few days.
