« The doctor's office where Margaret Spada was operated on is not authorized for procedural activities ».

The President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca announced it. The 22-year-old, originally from Syracuse, died at Sant'Eugenio after undergoing local anesthesia for a rhinoplasty operation in the outpatient clinic of a medical center in the capital, in the Eur area.

"We will give the investigators and the NAS all the information. From an initial analysis, we do not see a valid health authorization. This is the information that I have summarily acquired. The offices are investigating further," Rocca says on the sidelines of a conference at Sant'Andrea.

"These things are a disgrace," the Lazio governor emphasizes. "Doctors are the first to know that health authorization, which does not concern accreditation, is needed to be able to carry out any private health activity. These are essential minimum requirements for people's health. Failure to comply with these rules is a violation and an insult to the medical profession itself ."

Two doctors, the owners of the facility, are being investigated for the girl's death. Margaret Spada left with her boyfriend on November 4th to undergo rhinoplasty in Rome, but after the anesthesia she felt ill. Her boyfriend entered the operating room and filmed those dramatic moments in which the doctors were trying to revive her , but the situation worsened in a few minutes. The girl was transported by ambulance in very serious conditions to the nearby Sant'Eugenio hospital where she died after three days of agony.

The girl's medical records were not found inside the medical center, nor the registration of the operation, which cost approximately 2,800 euros, nor the informed consent.

The 22-year-old had found the medical center from a social media ad. The exact cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, scheduled for today.
