The flight that departed yesterday from Perth, Australia , with Mara Farci , the 30-year- old originally from Fluminimaggiore who had been hospitalized for two months at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital, landed in Fiumicino .

A first happy ending for a very complicated story, and for which an entire country and beyond has been mobilized , and which now, for the conclusion that everyone hopes, is in the hands of the doctors who will be treated, first in Rome and then, with a new transfer, the young woman who is in a profound state of coma goes to Sardinia .

During the journey over the ocean, as reported by the Messenger, Mara's parents and a Medical Connect doctor assist Mara, then an ambulance equipped for transfer to the Gemelli Hospital awaits her on the runway of the Roman airport.

THE EVENT - The difficult story of Fluminimaggiore's family began two months, when Mara left for Australia. He had suffered from anorexia from the age of 16 , but he didn't want to give up traveling for that.

Then, despite the fulfillment of the dream of moving to the place she most desired for independence and an au pair job in Melbourne, the body abandoned her: a collapse of the internal organs , from which she was saved by a whisker from the doctors at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Then the terrible race of the parents overseas, and the drama for the exorbitant costs, unsustainable for the family, necessary to bring the daughter, in a deep coma, back to Italy.

The solidarity not only of Fluminimaggiore , but of Sardinia and of Italy as a whole, then moved to help: in a few days the fundraising organized ad hoc made it possible to set aside 70 thousand euros , going to cover expenses. Then the interest of the local authorities and the Farnesina guaranteed the safe return , with the Roman hospital chosen for an initial period in Italy and before returning to the island.

Now, the hope is that the treatments can lead to the final happy ending : "The doctors say that it is no longer a pharmacological problem - the words of the mayor of Fluminimaggiore -: the young woman breathes but does not wake up, she could also wake up from a moment to the next ".
