Cerebral hemorrhage. This is the reason for the death of Laura Porta, the 37-year-old nurse from Bolotana who died suddenly last Sunday in Pistoia . She was eight months pregnant .

A tragedy probably due to an aneurysm , the diagnostic findings ordered yesterday by the Health Authority will take care of ascertaining the causes.

Laura dreamed of working at 118, even as a rescuer on helicopters. But before any aspiration for her there was Andrea, the child that she and her partner Antonio were waiting for with love and who is now fighting between life and death in the intensive care unit of Meyer in Florence .

Born in Nuoro on 14 September 1987, she moved to Tuscany to study nursing sciences. She graduated with the vice-president of the Order of Nurses of Florence, David Nucci, who remembered her thus in the columns of Il Tirreno: «Kind, smiling, inclined to help others. We spoke a month and a half ago, he told me he had won the competition and was in the ranking. He dreamed of working at 118" .

Antonio Fasano, his partner, called 118 when it was just after 1.30pm. Laura had gone to the bathroom, had vomited, then he heard a thud . She fell to the ground unconscious, and he immediately tried to resuscitate her. Then the ambulance arrived, the transfer to the operating room to perform a caesarean section and deliver the baby. Then the desperate attempts, unfortunately useless, to save the woman, who passed away in the evening, around 10.30pm .

The family members arrived in Pistoia yesterday. The mother, Luisella Are, 63 years old, runs a clothing store in Bolotana. The father, Mariano, 71 years old, is a former department head at Enichem Ottana . Laura also had a brother, Claudio, who works in Pisa.

There is great condolences in Bolotana, there is still a lot of apprehension for the fate of the child.
