Bad injury following a fall from a horse for Andrea Chessa, a jockey from Orosei, during a training race in view of the Palio di Siena.

From what we learn, Chessa, 40 years old, known as Nappa II, was training on the Tamburo track in Monticiano, in the Siena area , and was unseated on the second lap of the fourth heat, remaining motionless on the ground.

The alarm and rescue services were immediate: Chessa was transported by helicopter to the Le Scotte hospital in Siena where he is currently hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.

After the incident, the training runs were temporarily suspended, only to resume regularly after the rescue.
