Thousands of files with contents defined as "gruesome" by the investigators, which in some cases portrayed real sexual violence against young children, were seized by the postal police as part of the "meet up" operation directed by the prosecutor's Turin and which led to the arrest, among others, of the director of the diocesan Caritas of Benevento, Don Nicola De Blasio.

A 37-year-old computer technician residing in Piedmont and the creator of a pay channel which, using a well-known messaging platform, was used to disseminate the material were also arrested with the priest.

The child pornography material was disclosed upon payment of a sum of money that enabled subscription to the channel.

In the operation, 26 people are under investigation against whom as many search decrees have been carried out. The activity, directed by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office and coordinated by the Postal and Communications Police Service - National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography, covered the entire national territory, involving 11 Compartments in the searches.

To carry out this activity, the investigators of the Turin postal police explain, a long preparatory work was necessary, consisting in the search for a relationship of trust with the interlocutors who from time to time showed themselves interested in the exchange of material. The rest was made possible by following the computer traces left on the net by Internet users.
