They struggle between life and death in very serious conditions, both hospitalized and intubated in the same room in the intensive care unit of the Padua hospital.

The protagonists are two unvaccinated spouses originally from Eastern Europe, infected by Covid about ten days ago.

They showed up at the hospital with respiratory problems, the husband and wife - both in their fifties - then explained to the doctors that none of them had had the vaccine.

Confirmed the diagnosis of Covid, they were hospitalized immediately, first in separate rooms then together in a so-called 'Covid box', a large intensive care room where they now struggle between life and death, in two paired beds, attached to respirators.
