The Italian Data Protection Authority has opened an investigation following the release of voice messages that Raoul Bova sent to model and influencer Martina Ceretti, to determine whether there are any violations of privacy laws and the Rules of Ethics for Journalists.
The audio, the Guarantor emphasizes, "was released without consent and originates from a private chat conversation between the actor and a third party. The content was subsequently shared on social media, often accompanied by ironic or derogatory posts, videos, and cartoons, garnering widespread media coverage ."
The Authority - which intervened following the actor's complaint - also issued a warning to all potential users of the audio or content extracted from the actor's private conversation , reiterating that their further dissemination may lead to the adoption of any measures deemed appropriate, including sanctions.
