The symptoms of poisoning were immediately evident on the lifeless body of Sonia Diolaiti, the 62-year-old found dead in her home in Ferrara , on the first floor of a building in via Ortigara. It was in the corridor, on the ground. To make the macabre discovery were the firefighters and the carabinieri who were alerted by a couple of acquaintances of the pensioner, worried because for days he had not answered the phone, the bell and the intercom.
The woman's daughter, a 38-year-old who lives in the same building, was immediately heard and told the investigators that she felt "persecuted" by her mother against whom she harbored a deep resentment for episodes dating back to her adolescence. Meanwhile, an autopsy was ordered on the mother's body to clarify the causes and dynamics of death: she would have taken a chemical substance which, if mixed with others, can have serious effects.
