It happened in Ramacca. The injured man, originally from Eastern Europe, is hospitalized.

A 37-year-old burglar was seriously injured by a homeowner who caught him stealing. The incident occurred in Ramacca, near Catania, where the 50-year-old saw the hooded man in his home and intervened.
A violent fight ensued and the homeowner injured the intruder with a kitchen knife.
The thief, originally from Eastern Europe, fled but was tracked down a short distance from the home by Carabinieri from Palagonia. He is admitted to Caltagirone Hospital with a critical condition, where he is under guard after being arrested for burglary and aggravated assault.
