A 70-year-old pensioner, Angelo Sfuggiti, former owner of a pizzeria, strangled his 66-year-old wife , Rita Talamelli, and then ingested barbiturates in the family home in Fano (Pesaro Urbino).

One of the couple's children discovered what happened when they returned home. It appears that the woman had health problems, of a psychiatric nature .

The man is hospitalized at the Santa Croce hospital under arrest, accused of voluntary homicide, and is being guarded by the police. His condition is not serious.

Angelo Fuggiti would have strangled his wife with his bare hands, perhaps during an argument. He would then watch over her for several hours, in shock or dazed from the drugs she had ingested . The house where the crime took place, a two-storey house in via Montefeltro, in Fano, was in order. During the night, the couple's two children were listened to for a long time.
