Confirmed on appeal, in Rome, the life sentence for Gulob , a soldier enlisted in the Afghan National Army, who in January 2011 killed the corporal major of the Alpini of the Julia Brigade, the Sardinian Luca Sanna , and seriously injured a fellow soldier, Luca Barisonzi, he was then paralyzed.

The incident happened in the Bala Murghad district.

The accused remained untraceable and fugitive throughout the investigation of the Rome Prosecutor's Office .

After the first degree sentence , in May 2021 , the pg Francesco Mollace requested and obtained confirmation of life imprisonment.

Against him the prosecutors of piazzale Clodio contest the crime of attack for the purpose of terrorism .

The indictment states that the accused "with the intent of violently opposing an international mission that was carrying out activities of garrison of the territory in the district of Bala Murghad was attacking the lives of Italian military personnel" who were stationed in the same base in which the Afghan military operated.

THE RECONSTRUCTION - It was January 18, 2011. Sanna, on a mission with the Alpine troops of the VIII Regiment of the Julia Brigade , was ambushed at the base of Bala Murghab . A man in uniform, a terrorist infiltrated among the Italian soldiers, approaches the corporal with an excuse. He pretends his weapon is jammed. Instead, suddenly, a barrage of bullets sets off, reaching Sanna and a fellow soldier, Luca Barisonzi . The latter is seriously injured, Sanna, unfortunately, hit in the head, loses his life. Luca was 33 years old and had recently married.
