A road tragedy struck late yesterday evening in Pordenone, where a 75-year-old woman died after being hit on Via Udine, at an intersection, not far from where she lived.

According to local police findings, the woman was allegedly hitched and dragged for approximately 20 meters by a Mercedes A-Class driven by a 32-year-old man from Cordenons, who apparently did not notice the impact or the fact that he had hitched the victim to his vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and attempted extensive resuscitation. The elderly woman was then rushed to the Pordenone emergency room, where she was pronounced dead due to the severe injuries she sustained.

The body was released to the judicial authorities. The stretch of road was closed for several hours to allow for technical examinations.
