Franco Baresi underwent surgery to remove a nodule in his lungs.

AC Milan announced this in a statement that also includes the words of the former player and their honorary vice president: "Dear fans, I want to let you know that it will take me some time to get back into shape. Thank you to AC Milan and to all of you for your support and encouragement. With love, a hug."

"Following routine checks," AC Milan said in a statement, "our Honorary Vice President, Franco Baresi, was diagnosed with a pulmonary nodulation, which it was decided to remove via minimally invasive surgery ."

The surgery, the statement continues, went well, and the post-operative recovery was uneventful. Franco was subsequently evaluated by an oncologist, who recommended immunotherapy-based consolidation therapy. The entire Board of Directors, the Club's management, the employees and collaborators, the technical staff, and the AC Milan players extend to Franco their sincere and affectionate wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. Captain, we are all with you!
