Eighty-year-old man stabbed and killed on his farm found in a pool of blood

He was found dead on his family's farm in the municipality of Pontinia, in the province of Latina. The victim is in his eighties. His son, who had not heard from him, raised the alarm, prompting the emergency services and the Carabinieri to intervene. However, there was nothing more that could be done for the man.
According to reports, the elderly man was found in a pool of blood, stabbed to death. He had several stab wounds, including a fatal one to the throat. An autopsy has been ordered on the eighty-year-old's body, which will be performed today.
The prosecutor's office has opened a murder investigation, conducting direct inquiries into the victim's circle of acquaintances and alleged disagreements within the family. Yesterday, the son was interviewed at length as a person with knowledge of the facts.
