Fire in a house, a disabled woman dies

Tragedy in Palermo .

A 73-year-old woman with disabilities died following a fire that broke out in the night in her home in a two-story building in via Maltese.

The fire was allegedly caused by a short circuit in an electrical outlet.  

The firefighters who put down the flames shortly after 4, the 118 personnel and the carabinieri intervened on the spot.

Despite immediate help, there was nothing that could be done for the woman, who lived alone .

The military has opened an investigation into the case.
