She pretends to be a tourist, takes an apartment on the Airbnb platform and occupies it. For 8 months now , exactly since March 31st, the day she showed up at the house, as agreed with the owner, after registering on the platform.

It happens in Florence , a story similar to what happened in Padua. The fact was reported by Mrs. Maria, owner of that apartment that allows her to make ends meet. The author of the scam is a 40-year-old Florentine woman.

"As it happens every time a new guest arrives, I went to meet the girl in person who told me she was a doctor, a researcher at San Raffaele in Milan and that she was in Florence for a few days before moving permanently to Milan . She immediately seemed very kind and I would never have imagined what happened next," Maria tells Corriere.

After the three days booked on the platform, the woman leaves the apartment but then comes back saying she needs a few more days. The days pass, the request to extend the stay is repeated and Maria becomes suspicious, also because those extra days granted are not paid .

We get to May 18: «The arrival of boys from Australia was expected, but she didn't want to leave and even called the police, saying that I was disturbing her».

And after eight months she is still there: " She lives there with her twenty-year-old son, a dog and a cat, as if it were her home ." Maria filed a complaint for trespassing and fraudulent insolvency in May, but it was to no avail: the police and the judiciary still have not managed to get her back into possession of her home.
