" Until 4 September 2004 , Piera Maggio and Piero Pulizzi did not say that Denise was not Antonino Pipitone's daughter".

This was revealed by Giuseppe Linares, former head of the Trapani Mobile Squad and currently a high official of the Ministry of the Interior, deposing, in court, in Marsala , in the process that sees the prosecutor Maria Angioni, currently a judge in Sassari, accused of false information .

"Only on September 4 - added Linares, after the prosecutor asked for proof of the DNA, Piera Maggio revealed that the child was the daughter of Pietro Pulizzi and that Anna Corona (Pulizzi's ex-wife, ed) was angry with her for this. And this caused a delay in the investigation ".

Angioni, a former prosecutor who investigated the case of Denise's little girl, who disappeared from Mazara del Vallo on 1 September 2004 , came under investigation as part of the new investigations opened by the Prosecutor's Office on the case in the spring of last year. The magistrate had denounced misdirections and inefficiencies in the first investigations into Denise's disappearance by launching accusations at the investigators of the time which later turned out to be "false" .

In the courtroom Linares also added: "Anna Corona (investigated in recent months for the disappearance of the child, with the investigating magistrate who, accepting the request of the Prosecutor, then closed the investigation, ed) was heard by two officers of the carabinieri the same evening of September 1, 2004, the day Denise Pipitone disappeared, but the child's mother (Piera Maggio, ed.) eluded any information for two days , denying the romantic relationship with Piero Pulizzi , who in turn had defined 'rumors' those voices ".
