"They stole my life." So said Roberto Saviano , tearfully embracing his lawyer, after the Rome Court of Appeal confirmed the one-and-a-half-year prison sentence for the boss Francesco Bidognetti and one year and two months for the lawyer Michele Santonastaso in the trial for the threats made in 2008 against him and the journalist Rosaria Capacchione.
The incident occurred during the Spartacus appeal trial in Naples against the Casalesi clan. The threats he received at the time forced the Campanian writer, author of "Gomorrah," to live under police protection for 17 years.
The Fnsi and the Order of Journalists joined the proceedings as civil parties.
