The 9-month-old girl who was kicked and punched by her mother's companion in Casarile, a hamlet of Binasco, in the Milanese area, remains hospitalized in serious - but stable - conditions at the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo. But from the bulletin released by the doctors comes the good news: the little girl has left the intensive care unit and is not in danger of life.

Meanwhile, the investigations into the brutal beating continue: the stepfather - a 28 year old - was arrested and, under interrogation in front of the carabinieri, admitted his responsibilities.

According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, explains a note from the investigators, "the man, on the afternoon of October 1, while he was alone with his minor in the house of Casarile (Milan), where he lived with his partner and daughter she hit and yanked the little girl several times ".

To clarify what triggered the fury of the young man.

"The child's mother, worried about the fact that she could not contact her partner on the phone - reads the statement from the Prosecutor's office -, asked her mother to go and check at the house: once at home, the grandmother of the little girl went to the room where she found the newborn and noticed that she had some bruises on her face and chest ".

The grandmother then immediately contacted 118 and the carabinieri intervened in the house. The little girl was rushed to hospital , while the 28-year-old was taken to the barracks, accused of attempted infanticide .
