Another violent attack on a train conductor while carrying out his work. Asking a boy to show a ticket on a regional train cost a 50-year-old worker in the Bologna area two teeth.
The latest case of violence occurred on Monday afternoon on a Trenitalia-Tper train that connects Porretta to Pianoro, in the hinterland of Bologna. The Carabinieri are investigating and are looking for a minor. During one of the many commuter rides, in the afternoon, the train conductor asked the young passenger for his ticket. The boy, who did not have one, refused and - as far as we know - an argument ensued. The young man began to become agitated and aggressive and, despite the conductor having moved away and other passengers having intervened, he attacked the 50-year-old, violently beating him.
Several injuries, while the blows to the face knocked out two of his teeth. The boy walked away while the train was stopped in Vergato, causing cancellations and a cascade of delays to trains on the line. The train conductor, rescued by 118, was taken in shock to the Porretta Hospital for treatment.
The investigations have begun by the Carabinieri, who have listened to the other passengers in the carriage and have acquired the images from the surveillance cameras. In particular, the investigations are focusing on a minor who is already known to the police.
A few days ago in Parma, while waiting his turn at a bus stop near the center, a driver of the local Tep was punched in the face "for no reason" by a gang of kids. The brawl was also filmed and went viral on social media. The day before in the Treviso area, a 24-year-old boy was arrested by the Carabinieri because he was accused of punching the conductor who had asked him to show his ticket. A week ago in Tuscany, a train conductor was attacked by a passenger without a ticket who then also attacked the driver. Two days earlier in the Pavia area, a train conductor was slapped and pushed for asking a young man to stop smoking. At the beginning of November, the consequences were much more serious for Rosario Ventura , a train conductor stabbed in the side by a 21-year-old at the Genoa Rivarolo station, an episode that also sparked a massive protest strike by railway transport personnel throughout Italy.
