This was stated in a note by the Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci .

"Local authorities," he continues, "are committed to minimizing the inconvenience to affected families. I have spoken to the Prefect of Naples and am in constant contact with the head of the National Civil Protection Department, who immediately convened the Crisis Unit. We are closely monitoring the situation," he explains, "and ensuring full coordination between all operational structures to ensure assistance to the population and monitoring the area."

Following the magnitude 1 earthquake felt at 7:45 PM in the Campi Flegrei area, rail traffic in the Naples hub, including the high-speed line, was suspended to allow for technical checks on the condition of the infrastructure.
