The Ministry of the Interior has ordered the closure of the sea and air borders with Spain . The decision was made following the most recent information acquired, analyzed in particular by the Committee on Immigration and Border Security, which Minister Matteo Piantedosi chaired this morning at the Ministry of the Interior.

Furthermore, following a telephone conversation between Minister Piantedosi and his French counterpart, Laurent Nuñez, the opportunity for strengthening controls along the land border between the two countries was discussed, as part of the police cooperation agreements previously signed between France and Italy.
