An 11-year-old boy died in Rome after falling from a window on Via Igino Giordani , in the Collatino neighborhood, on the outskirts of the capital.

The little boy fell from the tenth floor, from a height of about 10 meters . On site 118 and the police, the ambulance took the child in desperate conditions to the Bambino Gesù hospital, where he died shortly after.

The police are investigating the incident, which occurred after 5 p.m. and are trying to clarify the dynamics of the incident. According to an initial reconstruction, the child was at home with the babysitter and fell from the window of his bedroom, ending up in an internal park.

Pain and dismay among those who knew Valerio, a smiling and kind boy who divided his days between school and his passion for football . Many shots of trips and happy moments with his parents and little sister shared on social media by the child's mother.

"I had just left the gym and was walking through the park that runs alongside the 'towers' of via Igino Giordani when I heard the screams - says Fabio - There was the father shouting 'Valerio, Valerio'. He was returning home at that moment and found his son on the ground. I immediately understood that something serious had happened and I approached. With other residents of the neighborhood who remained there until the ambulance arrived".

Valerio's parents are now at the Bambino Gesù hospital. They are in shock. In the next few hours, as soon as possible, the investigators will listen to them in order to acquire useful elements to shed light on the matter.
