Hadith Najafi, la ragazza simbolo delle proteste in Iran dopo l'uccisione di Mahsa Amini, è stata a sua volta uccisa a Karaj, 25 settembre 2022. Lo riferiscono vari social e in particolare la giornalista iraniana Masih Alinejad sul suo profilo Twitter: "Sua sorella mi ha detto che aveva solo 20 anni ed è stata uccisa da 6 proiettili nella città di Karaj". Era diventato virale il video nel quale la bionda Hadith, senza velo, si legava i capelli prima di una manifestazione.
